Obituary of Laurie B. Freer Baik

Laurie B. Freer Baik, age 53, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. The beloved wife of the late Michel Baik, Laurie was born in Bridgeport, on January 17, 1963 the daughter of Frances Higgins Freer of Shelton and the late Peter A. Freer, Jr. Laurie was a 1981 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and family was paramount to her. Laurie was happiest being with her children and supporting their passions, whether it was Thomas' regattas and pipe band performances; Andrew's rugby games, their school plays, or Margaret's cheerleading competitions and dance recitals. She was the mama bear to her cubs! In addition to her flair for all things fashion, Laurie had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. A loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. Laurie is survived by the loves of her life, her devoted children; Andrew, Thomas, and Margaret, of Bridgeport. In addition to her mother she is survived by a large, loving family including her two brothers; Peter A. Freer III (Jennifer) of Meadow Vista, CA and Patrick Freer (Kim) of Chandler, AZ, her three sisters; Frances A. Freer of Bridgeport, Susan O'Neil (John) of Snellville, GA and Beth Frazza (Luke) of Fairfax, VA; her sister-in-law Dr. Rania Baik (Bob) of Brooklyn, CT and twelve nieces and nephews that were proud to call her their aunt. Laurie was beyond blessed to have the companionship of many dear friends as well as her beloved dog, Pearl. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
