Obituary of Michelina Arlia Pate

Michelina Arlia Pate, age 78, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Alfredo Pate. Born in Belmonte Calabro, Italia on August 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Arlia and Maria Provenzano. Michelina worked as a tailor, alongside her husband at their tailor shop in Trumbull for 42 years. She loved to return to Italy each summer and also found great enjoyment tending to her garden. However, her greatest pleasure was found when she was cooking for her family or taking care of her grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband Alfredo of 51 years, other survivors include her children, Roberto Pate and Riccardo Pate, both of Trumbull, Gabriella Grosso and her husband Daniel of Shelton and Patrizia Fusco and her husband Jay of Fairfield, four cherished grandchildren, Gianna and Olivia Grosso and Luca and Drea Fusco. She is also survived by her sister, Concetta (Lidia) Crecco of Monroe and was predeceased by her brother, Palmerino Arlia and sisters, Rosa Porto and Emilia Porto. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
