Obituary of Richard G. Puskar

Richard G. Puskar, age 75, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Elaine Coviello Puskar, passed away on Saturday March 26, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born on March 31, 1940 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late George M. and Julia E. Andriso Puskar. Before his retirement, Richard was employed as a mechanical engineer for Dorr-Oliver where he had 28 years of dedicated service. A former employee of W.S. Rockwell, Richard was proud to have designed the largest butterfly valve and was also a former chairman of the Trumbull Zoning Board of Appeals. Along with his wife and "the group", they enjoyed traveling to many places but none was more special than Las Vegas; he looked forward to the monthly lunches with his friends where memories and laughter would be shared by all. Richard and Elaine truly enjoyed dancing together and would often be the first couple on the floor and was an avid fan of the UCONN Men's and Women's basketball teams. But above all he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who treasured the time spent with his family, especially his grandsons. His big smile, laughter and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him; he will truly be missed by all. In addition to his beloved wife of 52 years, Elaine, survivors include two cherished daughters, Jackie Guzek and her husband Stanley of Shelton and Stacey Ciardi and her husband Christopher of Fairfield, two cherished grandsons, Nicholas and Colin Guzek, a sister Shirley Eggers and her husband Jack of Shelton; aunts Grace Puskar of Trumbull, Anne Horne of Torrington and Ann Andriso of Chicago, as well as several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to The Jewish Home for the Elderly 175 Jefferson St., Fairfield, CT 06825.
