Obituary of Karl Paul Mones

Karl Paul Mones, age 57, of Trumbull passed from his earthly being, surrounded by nature, on Monday, March 7, 2016. Born in Bridgeport on September 1, 1958, he was a son of the late Carl August and Kathe Mones and was a longtime resident of Trumbull. In his younger years, Karl had been quite an adventurer. He traveled to Europe and also explored many places in the United States. He climbed mountains and lived in Yosemite National Park for over a year, taking every opportunity to explore the Sierra Nevada mountains as much as possible. From an early age he was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, boating, and hunting. He loved woodworking, gardening, carpentry, collecting things, and so many other things in life. He was truly happiest in the woods or on the water. His soul was deep and filled with passion for living life to the fullest. He returned to college as an adult and earned an Associate's Degree in science and certification as a medical laboratory technician. During his working years he enjoyed various occupations such as a paint store manager, research laboratory technician, and regional manager for a petroleum company. In addition to his wife, Ann Marie Laukkanen Mones, survivors include two sons, Adam Mones of NY and Kyle Mones of Enfield, two step children, two sisters, Karen Ambrum and her husband Richard of Vero Beach, FL and Suzan Mohnes of Milford, and his aunt, Norma Mones of Trumbull as well as a niece, Sarah Sartarelli. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 11 am – 12 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull followed by a Memorial Service celebrating his life at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to: Shatterproof, which is a national organization committed to protecting our loved ones from addiction to illicit and prescription drugs, and alcohol, and ending the stigma and suffering of those affected by this disease. shatterproof.org 1-800-597-2557, 101 Merritt 7 Corporate Park, 1st Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or to Domestic Violence Crisis Center 777 Summer Street, Suite 400 Stamford, CT 06901-1022 Tel: (203) 588-9100, or to Connecticut Mental Health Center Foundation 34 Park Street, Suite 144, New Haven, CT 06519, 203-974-7089 (Office) Suicide.org which is dedicated to prevention, awareness, and support.
