Obituary of Marion R. Soltis

Marion R. Klinga Soltis, age 87, beloved wife of the late John J. Soltis, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Jewish Home in Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport on December 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Steven and Pauline Tokh Klinga. Marion enjoyed cooking and baking, and was an avid gardener. She found great pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at holiday time. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her four loving children, daughter Kathleen Johanson and her husband Barney of Monroe, son Michael Soltis and his wife Karen of Ridgefield, daughter Doreen Farrell of Bridgeport, and son Thomas Soltis and his wife Susan of Bethany; ten cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Lindsay, Greg and his wife Lizzie, Joe and his wife Darcie, Dan, Elizabeth and her husband Sean, Doug, Jeff, Becky, and Adam; her two adored great grandchildren, Owen and Mia, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her beloved grandchild Lisa Johanson, and her seven brothers and sisters, Pauline Cummings, Cornelia Moody, Claire Nadeau, Steve Klinga, Albert Klinga, Edward Klinga, and May Bardinelli. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
