Obituary of Kathryn Muldowney Arsenault

Kathryn Muldowney Arsenault, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Joseph Arsenault. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, she was born on July 31, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Sullivan) Muldowney. Kathryn had been employed by Golf Digest, where she was proud of her position as heading the “Hole in One” department before her retirement with over 15 years of dedicated service. Kathryn loved nothing more than spending time with her children and friends and doting on her grandchildren. Always impeccably dressed, she had a sense of style unrivaled by most and never took herself too seriously. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Arsenault of Milford, Laurie Kuhn and her husband John of Bridgeport and Cherie Gorman and her husband Stephen of Monroe; six grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Gorman, Jack Arsenault, Jessica, Victoria and Alexandra Kuhn, and her sister-in-law Dorothy Muldowney of Milford. She also leaves behind some dear friends, nieces and nephews and close relatives including Dolly DiCarlo and Valerie Higgins. In addition to her husband Leo, Kathryn was also predeceased by her son, Craig Leo Arsenault, and her brothers, John, Francis and William Muldowney. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
