Obituary of Domenico Lombardi

Domenico Lombardi, age 85, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Vincenza Venditti Lombardi, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Born in Ripi, Italy on March 13, 1930, he proudly emigrated to the United States in 1950. He was a son of the late Francesco and Michelina DeArudini Lombardi. Domenico worked as a machine operator, before his retirement with many dedicated years of service. A skilled woodworker, he also loved to work in his garden, and was an avid winemaker. His greatest pleasure was found in the time he spent with his family and his beloved grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Angelo Lombardi and his wife Joann of Stratford, a daughter, Anna M. Corbeil and her husband Brian of Derby, four grandsons, Bryan and his wife Megan, Christopher and Matthew Lombardi and William Corbeil, two great grandchildren, Aiden and Dylan Lombardi, his siblings, Palma Foci of Italy, Vincenzo Lombardi, Laura Recini and Remo Lombardi, all of NY. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
