Obituary of Millicent Hiertz Hanson

Beautiful Wife, Mother and Grandmother Millicent Hiertz Hanson, age 80, of the Huntington section of Shelton, entered into eternal rest, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer, on Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport on February 24, 1926 to Maryann Booth Hiertz and Arthur Hiertz, and was a resident of Shelton for 42 years. Not only was she a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, she was active in programs such as, past executive secretary for Textron- Lycoming and the Textron- Lycoming Retirees, secretary to the Shelton Board of Education, Secretary to the Huntington Chapter 3240 AARP for three years, before she was elected president for an additional three years. She was also affiliated with the Shelton Senior Center. Mrs. Hanson leaves behind her cherished husband of 58 years Gustave Vernon Hanson, two devoted daughters, Rene L. Hanson, Deidre H. Burke and her husband Anthony all of Huntington, two loving grandsons, Anthony Joseph Burke of Huntington and Brad Vernon Burke and his wife Eileen of Beacon Falls, a cherished great grandson, Aidan Hunter Burke along with a host of family and friends. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Arthur J. and Harold Hiertz. Funeral Information Relatives and Friends may call on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Private burial services take place on Wednesday in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
