Obituary of Carmella Riccio
Carmella L. Riccio, age 90, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care, Stratford. Born in Bridgeport on March 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Nellie Palazzo Riccio. She was a retired Marketing Supervisor for the former Dresser Industries with over 30 years of dedicated service. Carmella enjoyed bowling, traveling, and taking bus trips with friends, but she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include a sister-in-law Virginia Riccio of Myrtle Beach, SC, cherished nieces and nephews, Bonnie Smith (Steve), Mathew Riccio (Karin), James Riccio (Sharon) and Richard Riccio (Judith), great nieces and nephews Brian, Allison, Katie, Cindy, Rachel, John, Zachary, and Donna and great-great nieces and nephews Ari, Zev, and Nathan, and her lifelong friend and neighbor of 58 years Jack McGinnis. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mathew and Augustine Riccio.
At Carmella's request, all funeral services were private and burial took place at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
