Obituary of Robert W. Hamlin

Monroe Resident Robert W. Hamlin Sr., age 72, of Monroe, a retired supervisor at Sikorsky Aircraft for 39 years, died on Monday, March 26, 2007 at St. Vincent Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Miami, Florida on June 20, 1934, he was a son of the late Charles and Florence Moore Hamlin and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hamlin traveled through the Formosa Islands during his time in the Military and was also proud of the work he provided on the Seahawk helicopter. He also took great enjoyment in ballroom dancing with his wife, and had a great love of music. Bob volunteered for over 40 years at St. Stephen Church, Trumbull and along with his wife in 2005 were the first recipients of the St. Augustine Medal presented by Bishop Lori. Mr. Hamlin was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Ann Jones Hamlin, four devoted children, Kathleen Hamlin of New Hampshire, Robert W. Hamlin, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Monroe, William Hamlin and his dear friend Ramon Alcolea of MA., Elizabeth Hamlin of Monroe, two cherished grandchildren, Holly and Kellie, a sister Joyce Williams of Texas and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2007 directly in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull at 10:00 a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
