Obituary of Paul William Minar

Paul William Minar, 48, of Chicago, Illinois formerly of Fairfield, Connecticut died on September 14, 2015 in his beloved city of Chicago. Paul was born on August 5, 1967 in Trenton, NJ to loving and devoted parents, Thomas and Barbara Minar. Paul attended St. Pius X School in Fairfield, CT where he graduated as valedictorian. Paul continued his Catholic education at Fairfield College Preparatory School in Fairfield, CT where he graduated with highest honors and was recognized by his peers as an exemplary athlete. Paul went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the distinguished University of Notre Dame and in doing so ingrained in his family a love for Notre Dame Football. Paul continued to excel by becoming a highly respected Vice President of Cosmopolitan National Bank of Chicago where he created his legacy in the development and renovation of the historic Six North Michigan Avenue building in Chicago, Illinois. Paul loved the community of Chicago and therefore put much of his time and energy into projects and organizations to create lasting improvements for the city he held so dear. Paul will also continue his legacy in the lives in which he left an indelible impression. He will be remembered by his friends and family as generous, joyful, adventurous and free-spirited. He was a beloved brother to his eleven siblings, Tommy, Michelle, Barbara Anne, Danny, Barbara Holly, David, Chris, Phillip, Anne, Stephen and Mary. His spirit and memory will live on in the lessons and joy he brought to his nieces and nephews, Andrew, Tommy Jr., Liam, Ryan, Casey, Matteo, Grace, Emma, Addie, Lily, Davey Joe, Joseph, Brynn, Brody, Tyler, Katelyn, Everett and Olivia. He will be forever loved by his devoted girlfriend, Lisa Sawczuk. Paul was also instrumental in attaining his father's devoted canine companion, Marley. His family is comforted by the fact that he is resting peacefully in the arms of his sister, Barbara Anne. Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:15 a.m. until the time of service.
