Obituary of Thomas J. Corner

Thomas J. Corner, age 74 of Shelton, beloved husband to Paulette Saccone Corner passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport on March 4, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward and Helena Byrne Corner. He was a longtime truck driver for Teamsters Local 191 and worked for many years with Red Star Trucking. Thomas was a simple, hardworking man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas "TJ" Corner, Jr., and sisters, Mary Benson and Jean Corner. In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, Paulette, survivors include his three loving daughters, Denise Walker of Newtown, Darlene Corner and her husband Daniel Garcia of Sandy Hook, and Dawn Pastore and her husband Gildo of Shelton; four cherished grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Daniel Garcia, and Harley and Martina Pastore; two brothers, Edward and Charles Corner and a sister, Margaret Drew; brothers and sisters in law, Lou Saccone and his wife Sylvia, Rose O'Donnell, Thomas Saccone, and Peter Saccone and his wife Connie; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Relatives and friends may greet the family in the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m.–12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.
