Obituary of Lorraine Laske

Lorraine Curley Laske, age 80, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Arthur C. Laske, Jr., and was an extraordinary mother to her three children, Susan, Art and Lauren. Lorraine lived her life for those she loved, and she did so with a timeless sense of beauty, grace and dignity. Her smile lit up a room, her laugh brought joy to those around her, and she was blessed with a lifetime of strong lasting friendships. She loved long dinners with old friends, travelling with her husband Art to places near and far, and welcoming everyone into the warm and inviting home she created in Trumbull. Above all, she loved the family she created, and her greatest joy was to support the successes of her children and grandchildren, and to tell all her friends about them. Lorraine was a graduate of Laurelton Hall and the University of Bridgeport. In addition to bringing up her family, she was a realtor for many years with VP Realty of Trumbull. She is survived by her daughter Susan Laske Eilertsen and her husband Kjell Eilertsen of Trondheim, Norway and their children, Kristen and Jack; her son Arthur C. Laske III, his children John, Joseph, Nathaniel and Anna of Easton; her daughter Lauren Laske Hartnett and her husband Bryan Hartnett of Franklin, Massachusetts, and their daughters Lindsey, Kate, and Tara. She was predeceased by her brother Philip Curley and her sister Rita McIntire. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road in Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Lorraine and Art Laske to the Swim Across the Sound, or to a charity of your choice.
