Bryan was a super nice person. We were friends about 40 years ago, while we attended Hurlbutt together.
We spent many days creating a world of fun and imagination. We had Devil’s Den’s 1700 acres as my backyard, so our setting was Steven Spielberg in size. We would likely have been Jedi Knights, but since they didn’t exist yet, we became cowboys and Indians. If the world desperately needed saving that day, we were cops and robbers. Straws would be drawn to see who would get to be the Bionic Man.
By Middle school, we had both taken up music, and joined “Mr. Larusso’s Band”. He was one of the best teachers I ever had, despite my lacking trumpet talent.
Behind the trumpet section were “The Trombones”. They weren’t just another section. They had their own bond; their own identity. For 6 years I can remember watching them play. I never once saw Bryan without a smile, or laughing.
The world became a better place for having him in it. His joyous spirit will live on through all that he knew.

Dentegra Insurance Company was so fortunate to have Bryan join our company; when we met him in December in Dallas, TX, we all bonded with him well! His compassionate, kind and enjoyable personality showed in everything he did; always asking if there was anything more he could do and how he could help! His team was truly stunned and taken aback when the news was received of his being called home to the Lord. What an amazing colleague and man; who was so proud of and so loving to his wife and children (he told lovely stories that are truly treasured memories)! Bryan, you will be missed, and many condolences to the family!

To the Thirkield Family,
My deepest sympathies to you. Eileen, I don't know if you remember me, but I was at your wedding some twenty years ago. Bryan was a great friend to me and I thought of him often through the years, even though we only recently reconnected through Facebook. It was quite obvious from his posts how much he loved his family, and life. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. The memories I have of spending time with him will be with me always.
Remember how much he loved life, and try to honor his memory by living yours to the fullest. I know I will try to do the same.
Peace to you and your daughters.
Mary

Dear Thirkield Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Bryan's passing. I've known him since he was in high school, when he played with a local big band I was running at the time. Over the years since, our paths have crossed many times on the bandstand. Bryan was always so positive and upbeat. He clearly loved his family and life. I will miss him.

The day the news broke was a very sad day. The time that we got to spend working together and getting to know each other during the early part of the year will never be forgotten. What I'll remember the most will be his positive attitude and great sense of humor. He had a laugh that was contagious. It just felt good being around him. Bryan was.one of the good guys. My heart goes out to his family. He will always be remembered.

I will always remember meeting Bryan, Eileen, Laura and Sarah for the first time at Camp Jewell in 2009. Sarah and our daughter Julia had just spent two weeks of summer camp together. Bryan and Eileen were exploring the campgrounds with their children, just as we were with ours. We were so happy to realize that we lived relatively near each other, and the girls would be able to get together often. As it turned out, we all became friends and began to get together often! I will never ever forget Bryan's kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and the love he had for Eileen, Sarah and Laura. I now can think back on so many wonderful memories because we met Bryan and his lovely family. Eileen, Laura and Sarah, please know we are here for you always.

I am very sorry to hear of this great soul leaving us all far too early. Bryan was a good friend ever since I met him in 1994 while working with him at Stamford based ACMI Bryan and I were doing endoscope and instrumentation telemarketing. We had other jobs at ACMI and shared much camaraderie and laughs then and since. Bryan got me an interview with Oxford/UnitedHealthcare in Spring 2000. I had that job until I left UnitedHealthcare on April 3, 2015, the last day I saw Bryan and treated him to dinner at The Tavern in Monroe, CT in thanks for this job which sustained me all these years! I am happy to say I then took the time to thank Bryan for keeping in touch with me all these years, considering I sometimes needed to be hunted down! He was indeed a great friend and I admired his great smile, especially when he spoke of his loving family, his good friend Andy Glicklin and the gigs he was involved in. I will miss him and fondly remember his warm handshake and good nature.

Elieen, Sarah, and Laura,
Bryan was the epitome of warmth and generosity. I have so many memories of him being particularly aware of others in need, and immediately taking steps to help. I'm remembering his wicked accurate imitations - freakishly on point. I remember his uncanny ability to plug just the right movie quote into any situation: "I'll take the lot! Bring me a bucket!" And Eileen, I remember when he fell in love with you, hard and fast. And he adored you to the end. And girls, any conversation always involved him extolling your every virtue and accomplishment. You ladies made his life one full of joy and love. Please know that he will be with you always, and remember all that was unique, brave, compassionate, and funny about him. You had the best dad ever for 15/17 years, please remember to cherish that gift. I will be light a candle in his memory at church tomorrow.

Eileen, Sarah and Laura...
I am devastated to hear of Bryan's passing. Bryan and I worked together many years ago at ACMI in Stamford. We remained Facebook Friends to this day. I remember not only when he and Eileen got married, but when the girls were born. He was one proud, happy papa. I was able to keep track of his adventures through FB and just recently asked him to recommend a restaurant near Oakdale because it seemed he was always going there.. He was not only a dedicated worker. but a genuine good person. He introduced me to Grey Goose vodka when he gave me a bottle for a Christmas gift many years ago...it's still my favorite brand. He is gone much too soon but his memories will live on forever. Polite, charming, funny, caring, talented .....the whole package. He was so devoted to his loving family. I pray that you find some comfort in all the wonderful memories you share. I will never forget him. May he rest in peace...memory eternal.
