Obituary of Geraldine White

Geraldine White, beloved mother, devoted grandmother, and compassionate friend, died peacefully with her family in Branford, Connecticut after a long illness. She was 87. Geraldine will be remembered by all as a kind and generous spirit who was devoted to her family. She supported her children in good times and bad and her indomitable spirit was the glue that held her family together. She was a long time resident of Stratford, an active member of the Stratford High School Class of 1945, and a faithful parishioner at St. Mark Church. After moving to Shelton she found her spiritual home at St. Margaret Mary Church. She had strong feelings about religion and politics that she was never reluctant to share. She took great pride in her home and her family and particularly enjoyed birthdays, holidays, and other family events. She loved to travel and was equally comfortable in Napa Valley or at Mohegan Sun. She adored Frank Sinatra and loved cooking Sunday dinner for family and friends. Canelloni and manicotti were two of her many specialties. Geraldine is survived and will be greatly missed by sisters Margaret Jacaruso and Beatrice Picone, sons Thomas and Stanley Adamchek, daughters Jacqueline Healy, Susan Bader, Mary Beth White, and Patricia Spillane, and grandchildren Alex, Christopher, and Claire Bader, and Jack and Erin Spillane, as well as daughters and sons-in-law Lori Adamchek, Janice Adamchek, Denis Healy, Bob Bader, and Emmett Spillane. Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, April 8 from 3 – 7 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 10 AM directly in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Geraldine's name to Connecticut Hospice, Inc. 100 Double Beach Road, Branford CT 06405 or to Saint Margaret Mary Church in Shelton. Her family would like to extend special appreciation to the 3rd floor staff at Lord Chamberlain in Stratford, to the nurses at the Guilford VNA, and special thanks to doctors Frank Spano and Roman Spivak for their extraordinary and compassionate care.
