Obituary of Marcello De Vellis

Marcello De Vellis, age 74, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Adalgisa D'Arduini De Vellis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 15, 1940 in Strangolagalli, Province of Frosinone, Italy, he was a son of the late Domenico and Clorinda Lisi De Vellis. Before his retirement he was employed by Domestic Kitchens of Fairfield. Marcello was a member of the Circolo Sportivo Italian American Club and enjoyed making wine. But above all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who cared deeply for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by a son, Davide De Vellis and three brothers, Arduino, Donato and Valentino. In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, Adalgisa, survivors include three loving children, Anna Vaivoda and her husband Edward of Naugatuck, Idilio De Vellis and his wife Sharon of Trumbull and Marco De Vellis and his wife Angela of Berlin, seven cherished grandchildren, Teresa Edwards and her husband Chris, Philip Wilkinson, Daniel, Nicholas, Steven, James and Catherine De Vellis, three adored great grandchildren, Logan, Philip and Viviana. He also leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Sam De Vellis of Shelton and Jack De Vellis of Ansonia, a sister, Gina Persichilli and her husband Elio of Strangolagalli, Italy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
