Obituary of Peter J. Kubik, Sr.

Peter J. Kubik Sr., age 86, of Stratford, beloved husband of Louise Diorio Kubik, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 25, 1928 in Stratford, he was a son of the late Stefan and Anna Seaman Kubik. He was a member of the Connecticut National Guard and later Peter had worked as an instrument repair specialist for the former AVCO Lycoming before his retirement with over 40 years of dedicated service. He was also an avid sportsman and faithful supporter of the UConn Huskies basketball programs. Pete found great enjoyment while fishing and gardening however, he will best be remembered as a very caring and loving husband, father and grandfather, who always put the needs of his family first. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Louise, other survivors include his two sons, Peter J. Kubik Jr., and his wife Darlene Maceyunas Kubik of Seymour and Alan S. Kubik of Stratford, two cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Tiffany Kubik, his identical twin brother, Paul Kubik and his wife Evelyn of Stratford, his sister, Lillian Poganis and her husband Richard of Stratford as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Joseph Kubik and sisters, Ann Miliano, Mary Oris and Olga Kubik. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Witt and his staff at Oncology Associates on Park Avenue in Bridgeport for the care and compassion that had been extended to them. Funeral services will take place on Thursday February 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
