Obituary of Peter J. Gura

Peter J. Gura, age 52, of Stratford, passed away on January 23, 2013. Born in Norwalk, on February 1, 1960, he was the beloved son of Doris Semos Farrell of Trumbull and James F. Gura of Daytona, FL. Peter graduated from Trumbull High School in 1978 and was later employed by Electric Maintenance of Bridgeport as a salesman with many years of dedicated service. He found great enjoyment in writing, reading comics and watching old television shows and also took pleasure in recording the interesting license plate combinations he had encountered over the years. He also took great stock in the studying and reading of the Farmers Almanac. His greatest joy however was found in spending time with his family, especially on Sundays. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his daughter, Carol Gura of Chester, VA and his first grandson, Brandon Gura-Coughlan, born just two weeks ago. Other survivors include his brothers and sisters, Stephen Gura of Stratford, James Gura, II of Milford, Susan Gura of Naugatuck and Patti Gura of Trumbull; his two nephews, Joshua Lees of Naugatuck and Daniel Lees of Clinton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Funeral Information A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
