He was the beloved husband of Antoinette (Ann) Rainone Farrell. Born in Bridgeport on May 24, 1916, he was a son of the late Leo P. Sr. and Josephine O'Leary Farrell. John was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later became the co-owner of Willis Distributors, formerly of Bridgeport, for many years before his retirement. A life-long member of St. Patrick's Church, John also found great enjoyment tending to his tomato gardens, reading and playing cards with his friends. He was also an avid supporter of the New York Mets and New York Giants. A good family man, his greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his three sons, John (Jack) C. Farrell, Jr. of Bridgeport, Robert Farrell and his wife Deborah, and Richard Farrell and his wife Leslie, all of Shelton, four cherished grandchildren, Micah Farrell and his wife Jennifer of CA, Kate Farrell of Shelton, Alison Rahn and her husband Michael of Orange, and Maureen Farrell Charney and her husband Ben Charney of Middletown, six adored great grandchildren, Isabella, Quinlan and Emery Farrell and Jake, Charles and Eli Rahn, his sister, Rosemary Graham of Stratford, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Farrell and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Ann, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Leo Farrell, Jr. and Fr. Edgar Farrell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to John's caregiver, Chris for his extra effort and compassionate care.
