Obituary of Gene F. DeMalt

Gene F. DeMalt, age 82, of Trumbull, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on October 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Victor D. and Lillian Forte DeMalt. A Corporal in the U.S. Army and he served his country proudly. Gene was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service with over 30 years of dedicated service and was also a devoted parishioner of St. Theresa Church since 1956. He was an active supporter of numerous charities. Survivors include his loving sister, Linda DeMalt of Bridgeport. All services were held privately and intimately so those invited family members and friends could focus on bidding farewell to Gene with the love and respect he was so deserving of. Interment was held in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Ms. DeMalt would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and doctors at St. Vincent's Emergency Room, as well as to our family friend, Rev. Michael Flynn for his special care and friendship to Gene. In addition, a very loving thank you and much appreciation for the love and tenderness shown to Gene by his caregiver, Kwabena Asare Ayim.
