Obituary of Betsy E. Anderson

Betsy E. Johnson Anderson, wife of the late Sven Alvar Anderson, went to the Lord peacefully on January 21, 2015. Born on April 26, 1921 in Bridgeport, the daughter of Amelia L. Soderberg Johnson and Oscar V. Johnson, she lived in Trumbull, Easton and in Newtown since 1984. She attended Fairfield Schools. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson eloped to Elkton, Md., in 1939 at the ages of 16 and 21. While raising their children, Mrs. Anderson owned and operated Mrs. Anderson's Nursery School and Kindergarten in Trumbull and Easton until retirement. After retiring, the Andersons traveled all over the world. She was a life time member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Trumbull where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Betsy’s hobbies include buying and selling real estate, baking and knitting! Everyone enjoyed Ma’s cookies! She is survived by her son Gordon and his wife Sandy (Jossick) Anderson, her grandson Shane R. Anderson and his wife Andrea (Chapman) Anderson, great grandsons Forrest K. and Boden H. Anderson, all of Newtown, a daughter-in-law Susan Anderson Goodrich, a brother Gordon V. Johnson of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Lanny R. Anderson, a sister Mildred Hansen Lindgren, brothers Henry and Daniel Johnson, and a niece Laurel Hansen Chapman. Calling hours will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
