Obituary of V. Paul Michaels

V. Paul Michaels, age 62, of Bethany, President of Michaels Jewelers, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1952, he was a son of Zelda Mason Michaels of Torrington and the late Irving Michaels Jr. Paul graduated from Warren Harding High School, class of 1970. He was proud to be a 4th generation member of a family business, operating Michaels Jewelers with his family for over 30 years. He was a recognized leader in the jewelry business, achieving the Certified Gemologist title. An avid music lover, he had a natural talent and ability to play any instrument he picked up. Paul was a hardworking, outgoing person and made friends everywhere he went. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother, and will be truly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his mother, survivors include his three loving children, Stephanie Michaels, Kesha Michaels and Robert Calileo, all of Redding, a cherished grandson, Benjamin, two brothers, Mickey Michaels of California and Mark Michaels and his wife Rosemarie of Monroe as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private.
