Obituary of Robert Lawrence Dwyer

Robert Lawrence Dwyer, age 50, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on February 3, 1964, he was a beloved son of Joyce Bonaventura Dwyer Birch of Stratford and the late Lawrence G. Dwyer and was a lifetime resident of Stratford. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a chef in many area restaurants. In addition to his loving mother and stepfather, Joyce and Michael Birch, survivors include daughters, Krystal Johanson and her husband Brian of Ansonia, Dakota Dwyer of Westport, a brother, Steven Dwyer and his wife Holly of Madison, step-brothers, Larry Dwyer Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Ansonia, Mickey Birch and his wife Beverly of Seymour and a step-sister, Donna Tafero and her husband Chris of San Diego, CA as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George Dwyer and Sis (Ethel) Williams Horan, his maternal grandparents, Ben and Rose Gabrielle Bonaventura and a cousin, Michael Ritz. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
