Obituary of Charlotte W. Cherwonsky

Charlotte Wheeler Cherwonsky, age 92, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Cherwonsky, died peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull. Born in Bridgeport on November 4, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Edward and Eunice Hitch Wheeler. Charlotte was a retired employee of Bridgeport Brass and was formerly employed by the former Fabric Tree in the Trumbull mall, where she established many lifelong friendships. An avid quilter, she was a loving mother, sister and aunt who loved and cared for her family. She will truly be missed. Survivors include a loving son, Joseph W. Cherwonsky and his wife Teri of Trumbull, a brother, David Wheeler of Middletown, nephews and nieces, Greg Wheeler, John Cockerill, Jill Colomonico and her husband Joe and Joanne Cockerill, as well as several great nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Daniel Wheeler and a sister, Gladys Cockerill. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Maefair Health Care Center for all of the professionalism and care shown to Charlotte during her time of need. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 12-1 p.m.
