Obituary of Paul C. Cocca
Paul C. Cocca, age 52, of Derby, beloved husband of Maryann Ferrara-Cocca, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born on October 24, 1962, he was the son of Vito F. Cocca of Bridgeport and the late Connie M. Raucci Cocca. Paul was a retired Captain from the City of Bridgeport Fire Department with 25 years of dedicated service before his retirement in 2013. He was a huge N.Y. Yankees fan and a devoted family man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his father and dearly loved wife, Maryann, other survivors include two daughters, Samantha Cocca and Sydney Cocca, both of Shelton, a stepdaughter, Nicole Reardon of Los Angeles, CA, two grandchildren, Shaan and Azaan, a brother, Gregory Cocca and his wife Joann of Reno, NV, two sisters, Jerri Wittekind and her husband Robert of Discovery Bay, CA and Ginny Corraro and her husband Michael of Shelton, as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Rd., Shelton, on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT. 06067.
