Obituary of Josephine J. Rotini

Josephine J. (Maida) Rotini, beloved wife of the late Guido Rotini, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at her home. Born in Bridgeport in November 1931, she was the only daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Tucci) Maida.

Josephine was predeceased by her three brothers Peter, Sam, and Louis Maida.

She had three children with her loving husband Guido. The oldest child, Margaret J. Rotini, was by her side when she passed. Her middle child, Jean D. Rotini, predeceased Josephine and gave her two wonderful granddaughters, Melissa-Jean Rotini, Esq. and Jessica-Lynn Rotini Cuthbertson. Josephine took great joy in her great grandchildren: Giovanna and Veronica Rotini-Cole, the daughters of Melissa and her husband Joshua S. Cole, Esq., and Tyler Cuthbertson, the son of Jessica and her husband Allan A. Cuthbertson. Josephine's youngest child, Nicholas Rotini, and his daughter Kathryn also mourn her loss. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

To Josephine, family always came first. Josephine attended the Garfield School and Harding High School, and worked as a teacher's aide at Holy Rosary School.

A life-long member of Holy Rosary Parish, she was President of the St. Michael's Society. Josephine enjoyed being active, going to the gym, and was social director of her aerobics class. She also loved to bake and cook for family and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. directly in Holy Rosary Church, 365 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Pursuant to Josephine's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
