Obituary of Edith Napolitano

Edith LoConte Napolitano, age 96, of Southbury, beloved wife of the late Louis N."Poppi" Napolitano, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on January 22, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Capuano LoConte. Mrs. Napolitano was a former employee for First National Stores for many years. Survivors include two sons, John Napolitano and his wife Barbara of Greenville, RI and Anthony Napolitano and his wife Patricia of Trumbull, a daughter, Nancy Rentz and her husband David of Southbury, two sisters, Viola LoConte and Bernice Moroni, both of Stratford, grandchildren, Lynn McDonald and her husband Patrick, Laura Napolitano, John Napolitano and Elaine, Anthony Napolitano and Sophia, Marc Napolitano and his wife Maureen, Shari Foldy and her husband Randall, Christine Matthews, Diane Sederquest, Eric Rentz and his wife Annie and Matthew Rentz and his wife Jennifer, great grandchildren, Allison, Shaun, Dylan, Lea, Charles, Julianne, Lauren, Christopher, Daniel, Sara, Lauren, Ryan and Brianna, Brandon, Jordan, Stephen and Laura, Samantha, Calli, Casey, Stephan, Julie, Emily and Ethan, a great great grandson, Tyler as well as many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Napolitano is also survived by her extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Broccoli and their children, Damian Broccoli and Mr. and Mrs. Dave and Marissa Van Growski and Matteo and Luca. She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Lisa Marie Napolitano and her siblings, Emily Dion, Lucy Sportini, Dorothy Rich, Angelo LoConte, Lena LoConte, Mary Cyr, Anna Burdo, Patsy LoConte, Claire LoConte and Anthony LoConte. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 321 Research Parkway, Suite 212, Meriden, CT 06450.
