Obituary of Glenn T. Dollmann

Glenn Thomas Dollmann, age 79, died on Thanksgiving Day at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in New Rochelle, NY, he was the son of the late Laura and Louis Russo. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Lowy) Dollmann, sister, Lucille Freidenfelds and her husband John of Chester, NJ, brother and best friend, John Russo and his wife Christina of Stamford; daughters Lauren Elliott and her husband Bob of Sandy Hook, Michelle Sullivan and Lisa Leverich, both of Monroe and their mother Shirley Taylor of Huntington, CT and his grandchildren, Sean and Tommy Elliott, Laura and Steven Sullivan and Vanessa Leverich. His nieces, Lara Freidenfelds of Chatham, NJ and Kelly Freidenfelds of Princeton, NJ and nephew, Jason Freidenfelds of Oakland, CA and their families, also survive Mr. Dollmann. Mr. Dollmann received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut's School of Pharmacy in 1956. He was a member of Phi Delta Chi, the Professional Fraternity serving the field of Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he served as a medic in the National Guard. His career spanned over thirty years working as Supervising Pharmacist at Pathmark and local pharmacies in the area. He retired from Riccio's Pharmacy in 1999. Mr. Dollmann was an avid outdoorsman spending time fishing, boating, and gardening. He also enjoyed teaching and playing racquetball, golf, tennis and skiing. In his free time he visited Mohegan Sun to preview the horse races and traveled with his long time friend, Paul Mazzia of New Fairfield. In his retirement he enjoyed those hobbies, and spending time with his beloved wife, his three loving daughters, and his five cherished grandchildren. He could often be found with his family fishing and picnicking at Great Hollow Lake and cheering on his alma mater, the UConn Huskies with his grandkids, brother and good friends, Joe Sullivan and George Dizenzo. He will be greatly missed by all and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The burial will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road in Monroe, CT officiated by Rev. Kathleen Adams-Shepherd. A celebration of his life will follow the interment at 12:00 p.m. at Port 5, 69 Brewster Street in Bridgeport, CT.
