Obituary of Mary Grace Bovan

Mary Grace Holmes Bovan, age 81, beloved wife of William G. Bovan of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Holyoke, MA on January 25, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George and Agnes Crowley Holmes and has been a longtime resident of Trumbull. Mary Grace graduated from Laurelton Hall and went on to become a note teller at an area bank and later worked in the trust department at the Indiana State National Bank. A dedicated homemaker, Mary Grace was an active volunteer in the Trumbull Schools and was a proud THS band parent. After her children had grown Mary Grace became a real estate broker and also worked as a bookkeeper at the law firm of McNamara and Kenney. She enjoyed antiquing, baking, traveling and was a longtime member of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull. Above all, Mary Grace was a loving wife, a proud mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank all the staff at VITAS Hospice for their compassionate care and dedication. In addition to her husband William of 58 years, survivors include her three loving daughters, Elizabeth Tyler and her husband John of Trumbull, Kathleen McKeon and her husband Thomas of Trumbull, Suzanne Skolnick and her husband Andrew of Woodbridge, a brother, George L. Holmes, Jr. and his wife Donna of Stratford, a sister, Patricia H. Wallace and her husband Jack of Rockville, MD and seven cherished grandchildren: Sarah and Ryan Tyler, Gregory, Daniel and Benjamin McKeon and Jake and Ally Skolnick as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
