Obituary of Delfin Teixeira

Delfin Teixeira, age 60, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Maria Borges Teixeira, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Soutelo, Chaves, Portugal on April 11, 1954, he was a son of the late Armando and Teresa Da Cruz Teixeira. A U. S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a retired employee of Heim Bearings in Fairfield. Delfin enjoyed gardening and riding his Harley Davidson along the beach with his wife. But above all, he truly treasured the time spent with his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who cared deeply for his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to Maria, his loving wife of 37 years, survivors include two cherished daughters, Nicole Teixeira Antunes and her husband Anibal of Trumbull and Melanie Borges Teixeira and her husband James Catsos of Newport Beach, CA, three brothers, Joseph Teixeira and his wife Francine of Bridgeport, Heitor Teixeira and his wife Florinda of Trumbull and Americo Teixeira of Monroe as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Isabell Dantas-Teixeira. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
