Obituary of Florentino Ibarrondo Diaz

Florentino "Chico" Ibarrondo Diaz, age 77, beloved husband of Penelope "Penny" Compagna Diaz of Trumbull, passed away on October 5, 2014, in Trumbull, CT. Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, on February 23, 1937, to the late Adrian and Juana Diaz Ibarrondo, he was predeceased by his brother, Tony, and nephew, Aniva. Before retirement, Chico was employed by the Waste Management Co. for many years as a truck driver. Chico was a good friend to many, immediately loved by everyone he met for his radiant charisma and personality. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who have been graced by his presence. In addition to his wife, Penny, of 44 years, survivors include daughters: Alice Jane Corso and husband Matt, June Rayner and husband Brian, and Michele Kiely and husband John; sons: Flores "Shane" Ibarrondo, and Brett Diaz and wife Andrea; as well as fifteen grandchildren: Shayna, Brian Jr., Shane Jr., Corrine, Tammy, Indiana, Cameron, Dakota, Montana, Storm, Evan, Nathan, Sonja, John Jr., and Gabriella. He is also survived by his sisters: Virginia and husband Rafael, and Amelia and husband Nolo; and brothers: Funda and wife Luz, Jose, Erasmo, Miguel, Ismael and wife Lucy, Santos and wife Carmen, Daniel, Juan and wife Nina, Junior and wife Maria; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will take place on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Cemeterio Municipal Nuevo Barrio Calabaza, San Sebastian, PR.
