Obituary of Trieste I. Gugliotta

Trieste I. Ruta Gugliotta, age 95 of Middletown and formerly of Bridgeport, devoted wife of the late Carmelo Gugliotta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden. Born in Bridgeport on July 8, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosalie Sortino Ruta. Before her retirement she was a sales clerk for the former D.M. Reads. Trieste was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was dedicated to the love and care of her family. She will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include two loving children, a son, Gerard Gugliotta of New York City, a daughter, Denise Byron and her husband Lawrence of Meriden, two cherished grandchildren, Jason Byron and his wife Krista of Salem, MA, Tracy Casey and her husband Michael of Meriden and three adored great grandchildren, Elektra, Andrew and Brandon, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Carmelo Ruta and two sisters, Josephine and Margaret Ruta. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford.
