Obituary of Elvera C. Mauro

Elvera Catherine Mauro, 86, of Jane Lew, WV , formerly of Trumbull, CT, where she lived most of her life, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at her daughter's home following a long and brave fight with cancer. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on June 18, 1928: daughter of the late Mark Serritella and Catherine (DeSarli) Serritella. On May 22, 1948, she married Salvatore Mauro, who preceded her in death on September 8, 2003. Mrs. Mauro is survived by her daughter: Catherine Mauro of Jane Lew and her two beloved granddogs, Bosco and Rudy. Mrs. Mauro was a secretary for Walsh Construction of Trumbull, CT. She was active at local senior centers and fostered dogs with the Trumbull Animal Group. Elvera and her husband, Salvatore, enjoyed Ballroom dancing. She was Roman Catholic. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
