Obituary of Doris R. Grabowski
Doris R. Jaconette Grabowski, age 62, of Oxford, loving and devoted wife of Joseph A. Grabowski, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on October 6, 1951 she was the daughter of Robert and Patricia Webb Jaconette of Sun City, Arizona. Doris earned her Bachelor's Degree from Sacred Heart University. She worked for many years in sales and marketing for Perkin Elmer. Doris enjoyed watching baseball and basketball. Her true passion in life was her family. She dedicated herself to the love and care of her family, especially her granddaughter Samantha. Doris treasured everyday with her and enjoyed being with her, Doris couldn't be happier than when she was with her family. Her memory will continue to live on in their hearts and she will never be forgotten. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband of 35 years, Joe, and her parents, survivors include her loving daughter Stephanie Fig and her husband Christopher of Southbury, a cherished and adored granddaughter, Samantha; three brothers, Robert, Dane and Patrick Jaconette, uncle and aunt, John and Evelyn Jaconette; mother-in-law, Mary Grabowski, brothers and sisters-in-law, Maria Malerba and her husband Bill, Anthony Grabowski and his wife Jo-Ellen, Theresa Cavalli and her husband Tony, Helen Lieto, Christina Migliaro and her husband John, Catherine Grabowski, James Grabowski and his wife Rachael, Robert Grabowski and his wife Margie, Gina Paternoster and her husband Corey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Andrew Grabowski.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd. (Route 67), Oxford, on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
