I always thought of my Uncle Harry as an amazing person. He gave me my first job, I washed dishes at the Sugar Cone (Saturdays only, just what was in the sink at that time, during fall football season) and got payed with one of his fabulous hamburger meals! LOL! As a youth I enjoyed many games of playing Basketball, Baseball and shooting Pool with him. He was an amazing Pool player (I called him a Pool-shark, he could make amazing shots on the table). His knowledge of sports was second to none, ask him a question, give him a minute and he would answer the question (past and present). Most people didn't know that my Uncle was also a great Diver off the diving board. His forward and backward flips were amazing for a 6'3", 200+ lb person. He did have this one dive we loved where he would step up to the end of the board, jump up once, land his bottom on the board, spring back up to his feet then dive in! We couldn't wait for him to do it again, a great memory! I listened to all of the stories that were told of him, the High School sports MVP's, the offers from professional football teams, the travels to Las Vegas to play black jack, the custom made suits, the fancy cars and the experiences of his life. Stories of my Uncle could fill a hard cover book. Some I would laugh at and others I couldn't imagine happened, until a friend of his would repeat the story verbatim. I looked up to my Uncle even more so and told his stories to others whom never met him. As I shared these stories with my Children I could tell they were also in awe. The questions were many and the answers left my Children in awe. They understood their Great Uncle was someone very special. All of my years (not many), my Uncle never missed any of mine or my children's celebrations, ie. birthdays, graduations...etc. He would never arrive empty handed, pastries (his favorite), wine and a smile. We could not wait to sit down to talk or play a card game with him. He was the Ace at the table (and in his "hand"). He lived his life with kindness, intelligence, mistakes and any other noun you can think of. My Children and I know he was an amazing person and will be missed greatly.
