Obituary of Mildred O'Connell

Mildred Mital O'Connell, age 85, of Easton, went to be with the Lord on her 85th birthday, Friday, June 20, 2014. She passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife and best friend of the late James G. O'Connell. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Olsavsky Mital. Before her retirement, Mildred loved being a secretary for many years. Mildred enjoyed her many telephone calls and visits with her sisters. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her cherished grandson, Patrick. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy G. O'Connell. Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter, Ellen Salerno and her husband Marc of Shelton, and cherished and adored grandson, Patrick Salerno, who was the light of her life; four sisters, Mary Yenchko of Florida, Anna Yenchko of Pennsylvania, Ruth Judge of New York and Dorothy MacFarquhar of North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Trinity Baptist Church 300 North Benson Rd., Fairfield.
