Obituary of Marie A. Piccirillo

Marie A. Santone Piccirillo, age 90, of Naugatuck, formerly of Bridgeport and Stratford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Anthony J. Piccirillo, and daughter of the late Rose and Patsy Santone. Marie was retired as administrative assistant of the Guidance Office at Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport. In retirement, she was a member of the Naugatuck Senior Center which she regularly attended with her good friend Jeanette Leigh. Marie also enjoyed her friends and weekly visits to Mademoiselle's Hair Salon in Bridgeport. She enjoyed cooking and baking; her Italian Easter Pies, rice pudding and Hungarian cookies were always the center piece of every holiday and family function. Survivors include a daughter Jo-Anne Jakab and her husband Gary, of Bridgeport; a son, Daniel Piccirillo and his wife, Nancy Pilgoste Piccirillo, of Naugatuck; brothers and sisters in law, Andrew (Helen) Piccirillo, John (Shirley) Piccirillo and Joseph (Phyllis) Piccirillo, Carmella Kusheba and sister in law Barbara Piccirillo; three grandchildren, Kelly Rose Jakab, Neil Anthony and Adam Daniel Piccirillo; and several nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by three brothers in law, Michael and James Piccirillo, Paul Kusheba and sister in law Marie Piccirillo. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
