Obituary of Charles G. Wade

Charles G. (Buddy) Wade, age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 64 years to Mary L. (Marie Mucherino) Wade died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, June 13, 2014. Born in Bridgeport on July 2, 1926, he was a son of the late Arthur J. Wade and Maryon Walsh Wade. A lifelong Bridgeport resident, he was a veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of the Lion's Club. Buddy was a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport, where he had worked for 42 years before retiring as the Deputy Director for the Department of Public Works. Buddy also had his own construction company called C. Wade Construction in Bridgeport, CT. After retiring from the City of Bridgeport, he began working with his son at a company named after him, "Buds Truck and Diesel Service, Inc." He has worked with his son for 22 years up until his illness. He was also very proud to have organized a very successful benefit rodeo for the L'Ambiance Plaza Victims in 1987. In addition to his beloved wife Marie, he is also survived by his daughter, MaryLouise W. Lang and her husband Kurt, his son, Charles G. Wade, II and his companion Jeannie, his grandchildren, Lynn Mongillo and her husband Aaron, Laureen Filomena and her husband Kevin, Joseph Santos and his wife Missy, Charles (Buddy Wade) III and Savannah Leigh Wade, great grandchildren, Kristina Ashley Filomena, Alyssa Mollie Filomena, Julianna Marguerite Mongillo and Mason Joseph Santos. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Arthur E. Wade. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
