Obituary of Lydia B. DeLibero

Lydia B. Santorelli DeLibero, age 88, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Cosmo DeLibero for 48 years. Born in Bridgeport on July 18, 1925, Lydia was the daughter of the late Victor Santorelli and Helen Savarese Santorelli. Lydia became a hairdresser at the former Howlands and D.M. Reads of Bridgeport for over 30 years before her retirement. She loved to bake, cook and found great enjoyment organizing bus trips to dinner shows and various casinos with her friends. Her outgoing and sociable way was coupled with her energy and enthusiasm for life. Her greatest pleasure was found in the time spent with her family. She is survived by her children, Anthony Victor DeLibero and Thomas and Ellen Therriault, her beloved grandchildren, Thomas Anthony and Melinda Erin and her cherished great grandson, Sean Thomas, all of Trumbull. She is also survived by her loving sister, Clara Hellrigel of Bridgeport, along with many nephews and nieces. The family extends much love and thanks to the Medical ICU Staff of Bridgeport Hospital who made her final days ones of care, comfort, friendship and kindness.
