Obituary of Sally Jane Farrell

Bridgeport Resident Sally Jane Tierney Farrell, age 81, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 surrounded by her loving family at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on March 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Brennan Tierney. She was a graduate of St. Augustine Grammar School and Central High School. She was a former secretary employed by the Connecticut Post where she was often an ad model. Sally enjoyed many days at Lantern Point, her Lunch Bunch friends, her Irish music, the Yankees, Giants, UCONN Huskies and Bingo. Sally was proud of her Irish Heritage. She was the matriarch of 76 immediate family members. Sally was loved and will be missed by all. She was pre-deceased by her husband, George H. Farrell Jr., three sisters, Marion Tierney Sfreddo, Rita Tierney Anderson and Elizabeth Tierney Stiewing, a brother, Thomas Tierney, a daughter-in-law, Diane Spear Farrell and a son-in-law, Thomas Lyddy. Survivors include four sons, George H. Farrell III and his wife Laurie of Seymour, David T. Farrell and Maureen Buckley of Bridgeport, Thomas J. Farrell and Doreen of Stratford, Joseph Farrell and his wife Stephanie of Raleigh, NC, four daughters, Sally Farrell Lyddy of Newtown, Kathleen Farrell Berarducci of Trumbull, Hilary Farrell Carr and her husband Christopher of Fairfield and Marianne Farrell Sullivan and her husband Raymond of Shelton, a sister, Katherine Tierney Leahy of Stafford Springs, 29 grandchildren, Lawrence, Kimberly, Brian, Michael, William, David, Kathleen, Ryan, Kara, Katie, Christopher, Kyle, Ashley, Lindsey, Matthew, Timothy, Elizabeth, Douglas, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Taylor, Peter, Glenn, Conor, Sean, Dylan, Stephan, Brennan and Tierney as well as 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
