Obituary of Hilda M. Farese

Fairfield Resident Hilda M. McDowell Farese, age 91, of Fairfield, the beloved wife of the late Nicholas A. Farese entered into eternal rest at Hewitt Memorial Hospital, Shelton, on Saturday December 13, 2008. Born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Hilda Russell McDowell, and step-daughter of the late Frances Turner McDowell. Hilda was a seamstress for Mitchell Brothers in Bridgeport and was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Bridgeport. Survivors include a daughter Mary Lou Elias of Trumbull, two sons, Nicholas A. Farese Jr. of Monroe, and John A. Farese of Stratford. She is also survived by grandchildren Daniel M. Elias of Trumbull, and Nicholas A. Farese III of Georgia and Kelly M. Farese of Bridgeport, great-grandchildren Everett and Makena Farese of Georgia, and a sister-in-law Sally McDowell of Bridgeport, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Lillian Mildner, Bertha Seegar and Dorothy Pekar, and her step-brothers John (Sonny) McDowell and Allen McDowell. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Michael J. Elias. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides on Unit 2C for their kind and loving care given to Hilda while in their care at Hewitt Memorial. Funeral Information A prayer service will take place on Tuesday December 16, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
