Obituary of Antoinette M. Attianese

Antoinette Marie Donofrio Attianese, of Branford and formerly of Trumbull, passed away Thursday June 18, 2009 at the age of 90 years old. Born on March 22, 1919 in Bridgeport she was a daughter of the late Antoinette Riccio and Lorenzo Donofrio. Wife of the late Vincent R. Attianese, she was a former resident of Trumbull for over 50 years before recently living with her daughter. Originally a beautician of the Sal-Antoine Beauty Salon in Bridgeport, where she met the love of her life, husband Vincent Attianese. Married 56 years she became a housewife and mother, who loved family, food and friends. She took care of her husband, a diabetic, for all their married years and he lived a full life to the age of 82. She became an expert in diabetic cooking, loved to come up with new dishes, loved to celebrate big family holidays and events and entertain friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Adeline, Jennie and Carrie and a brother John. She has been fortunate to be surrounded by a loving family. Survivors include a daughter, Sally Ann Attianese, owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics of Branford, and her companion of 14 years, Stephen A. Cascagne of Branford, a son Robert V. Attianese and his wife Beth, grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Attianese of Trabuco Canyon CA, her remaining brother Dan Donofrio and numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful friends who she had throughout her life. The family would like to express a special thanks to all people who helped care for her, Gloria, Jeri, Eileen and all of the Branford Hospice nurses and staff for the wonderful at-home care which was her wish. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
