Obituary of John Epifano
U.S. Army Veteran
John Epifano, age 88, of Trumbull, died on Monday, September 26, 2011 in Maefair Health Care Center. Born in Bridgeport on October 26, 1922, he was a son of the late John and Grace Martino Epifano. An Army Veteran, he served during World War II in demolition. Mr. Epifano was a retired mason whose career began at the age of 14 and ended as a mason foreman with E&F Construction. He was a member of the Bricklayers & Trowel Trades Union. Mr. Epifano was pre-deceased by his wife Grace Fazekas Epifano and sons John P. Epifano and Paul M. Epifano, a brother Camille Epifano and a sister Mary Epifano DiNapoli.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine M. Epifano of Trumbull, a son Mark T. Epifano of Palm Harbor, FL, a daughter-in-law Annette Epifano, granddaughters Melissa M. Epifano and Lindsey A. Epifano of Banks, OR; two brothers James Epifano of Trumbull and Robert Epifano of Piscataway, NJ, three sisters, Anna Avallon of Monroe, Julia Altieri of Clover, SC and Grace Puskar of Trumbull and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to meet directly in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. for graveside committal services. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
