Obituary of Barbara B. Dushay

Shelton Resident Barbara B. Dushay, 73, of Shelton, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, surrounded by loving family and friends, following a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. The daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Beer, she was born and raised in Bridgeport. She graduated from Central High School and worked in the health care field for many years. Most recently, she was a case manager at Oxford Health Plans. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Paul J. Dushay, Jr. She is survived by two sons, Paul J. Dushay III (Ruth) of Monroe, and Michael E. Dushay (Jonel) of Monroe, a loving daughter, Nancy E. Dushay, of Shelton, and six grandchildren: James, Tyler, Molly, Shane, Hailey and Connor Dushay, all of Monroe. She is also survived by her lifelong dear friend, Gail Pieger, and her husband, Robert, of Shelton. Barbara faced her battle with dignity and grace, and drew strength and comfort from her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. The family wished to sincerely thank Dr. Laurie Harrold, St. Vincents Swim Across the Sound, Bridgeport Hospital Tower 7 staff, and VITAS, for all their care and support. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. , Trumbull on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
