Obituary of George R. Dunbar

Dr. George Robert Dunbar of Monroe, Connecticut died peacefully Sunday, October 24, 2010 at St. Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his wife Mary, son Robert, daughters Nanci, Heather and many grandchildren. The compassionate medical team at St. Vincents kept him as comfortable as possible. Dr. Dunbar was very active in his much professional, civic, business, philanthropic, and family related activities through all but the last few days of his life. He never gave up hope, never stopped living fully. He worked hard his entire life with enthusiasm, integrity, strength, and love. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Information An open community memorial service celebrating his life is planned for Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 am in Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. All who knew and loved him are welcome. He always encouraged and appreciated random acts of kindness.
