Obituary of Bertrand R. Dumas

Master Coppersmith Bertrand R. Dumas, age 73, of Trumbull, died August 11, 2006. Born on October 4, 1932 in St. Ludger, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Albert Dumas and Alice Gilbert. Married in 1961, Bertrand and his wife, Theresa Mercier Dumas, established their first home in Norwalk, CT. In December of 1973, Bertrand and his family moved to Trumbull where he lived most of his working life. He was a master coppersmith who worked on many homes in and around Fairfield County. Bertrand was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and friend to many. He was hardworking, generous and fun-loving. Bertrand loved spending time with his family and was an avid golfer who enjoyed many outings with his friends at Tashua Knolls Golf Course. Bertrand is survived by his wife of 45 years, Theresa, his son, Roger J. Dumas and wife, Elise, and their children, Eric and Megan of Ansonia; his daughter, Nancy D. Boudreau and husband, Thomas, of Ansonia; his brothers, Wilfrid Dumas and wife, Monique; Henri-Paul Dumas and wife, Liz; Jean-Guy Dumas, Gregoire Dumas and wife, Clementine; Laurent Dumas and his sisters, Regina Morin, Fernande Lacroix, Simone Quirion and husband, Herve, Rolande LeTourneau; his sister-in-law, Yvette and her husband, Fernand Lachance and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, from 6 8 p.m Relatives and friends can meet directly at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 in St. Theresas Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment services will be private at the convenience of the family.
