Obituary of Filomena C. Draghi

Filomena Cuccaro Draghi, age 90, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Charles Draghi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side. Born on November 25, 1923, in Bridgeport she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Anna Maria Mastroanni Cuccaro. A lifelong Bridgeport resident, Filomena was a devoted parishioner of St. Margarets Shrine, Bridgeport and attended Mass daily. As a member of the St. Margarets Senior Club she enjoyed playing bingo at the church and organizing bus trips. Filomena was an amazing cook and loved to spend time with her friends and relatives on Suburban Avenue. She volunteered at the annual Feast of Saint Anthony Italian Festival at St. Margarets Shrine for most of her life. Above all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered for having such a big heart and vibrant personality. Her hard work, love and care of her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Linda Lapin. Survivors include her loving grandson, Richard Lapin and his wife Cristina of Trumbull, a cherished great granddaughter, Isabel, cousins, Viola Rusca, Joseph Cuccaro, Jo Ann Olsen, Rose Mary Denaro, lifelong friend Hazel Altieri, and many other special relatives in both Bridgeport and Italy. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margarets Shrine Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial.
