Obituary of Peter Angelo Donofrio

U.S. Army Veteran Peter Angelo Donofrio, son of Domenico and Santa Donofrio died on Friday, November 12, 2010 in Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. He was 86 years old. Mr. Donofrio was born in Alverda, PA on July 17, 1924 and moved to Bridgeport in 1945 after serving with the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked at American Wire Co. in Newtown for 35 years. Mr. Donofrio was a devoted and loving brother and uncle. A resident of Bridgeport for 56 years, he lived in Stratford for three years before moving to Laurel Gardens in Milford and then to Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. He is pre-deceased by his sister Mary Recupero and step-mother Lucia Donofrio. Mr. Donofrio is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Marietta and Michael DOstilio of Fredericksburg, VA; Samuel and Mary Ellen Recupero of Shelton, and Robert and Rosemary Recupero of Stratford. He is also survived by the following grandnieces and grandnephews: Heather and David Clemens and children Christopher and Mary of Williamsburg, VA; Michael and Jennifer DOstilio and children Andrew and Amelia of Turnersville, NJ; Samuel and Melissa Recupero and children Christopher and Lily, Ryan and Michele Recupero, Tiffany Recupero and Kelly, Paul and Emily Recupero all of Stratford. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
