Obituary of Encarnation Dominguis

Encarnation (Connie) Sardina Dominguis, age 81, of Stratford, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, November 21, 2010 after a courageous battle with Appendix Cancer. Born in New York City on January 17, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Rita Fernandez Sardina. She worked as a bilingual school secretary for the New York City School System, retiring after 27 years of service to be a full time grandma. Affectionately known as Abuela by her grandchildren, her most cherished times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren surrounding her. Her kind and giving spirit touched the lives of and will always be an inspiration to all that knew her. Her lessons on the importance of family will live on in her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jack Dominguis, a daughter, Christina Fernandes and her husband Manny Butch of Trumbull, a sister, Rosario Marcano of New Port Richey, FL, three grandchildren, Daniel, Caroline and Melissa as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Henry Jr. and Gerard Sardina and a sister, Josephine Sardina. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment will take place in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY. There will be no calling hours.
