Obituary of Alfred Donald Dobras

Resident of East Haven Alfred Donald Dobras, age 70, of East Haven, formerly of Trumbull, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in St. Vincent Medical Center after a battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. Born in Bridgeport on September 24, 1938, he was a son of the late Alfred and Madeline Rogers Dobras. He worked as an engineer and vice president at the Monroe Group, formerly known as Monroe Engineering in Monroe. He enjoyed spending time with his family, music, wine, tournament shark fishing, hunting, touring and hosting gatherings of the usual suspects. Survivors include two cherished daughters Andrea Baranyai and her husband Joseph of East Hartford and Audrey Dobras of Glastonbury, a sister Donna Monachelli of Fairfield, a niece Laura Stansel of Woodbridge and a nephew Paul Monachelli of Charlotte, NC, his longtime loving companion Terri Guidone of Northford, his best friend and former wife Nancy Ann Dobras of Sarasota, FL. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m..
